These are a few of my favorite things (autism resources)

There are already some really amazing resource lists that I use a lot, so I’m not going to try to reinvent the wheel. My favorites are:

  • Meghan Ashburn (“Not an Autism Mom”), co-author of “I Will Die On This Hill,” has curated an exhaustive list of books for That Au-Some Book Club broken down into books about autism and neurodiversity; books for children, adolescents, and adults; and books about parenting

  • Bobbi-Jo Molokken, ADHD therapist and coach of “Embrace the Muchness” has an amazing, comprehensive ADHD Resource Library (including social media resources, general info, sleep and eating info, cleaning and organizing…). It can be found here:

  • NeuroClastic Non-Speaker and Speller Links includes lists of social media and blogs, YouTube Channels, books, films, and organizations by and centering non-speaking autistic people

  • Autistic Culture: hosted by Dr. Angela Kingdon, a late-diagnosed autistic woman, interviewing a wide range of autistic community members and professionals

  • Autistic License: hosted by 2 autistic therapist in the UK, Siana & Leo, sharing their experiences as autistic adults.

  • Divergent Conversations: hosted by 2 AuDHD mental health professionals in the US, Dr. Megan Anna Neff (website listed above) and Patrick Casale, sharing informational and non-pathologizing conversations and interviews about a variety of forms of neurodivergence, especially autism and ADHD

  • Meet my Autistic Brain: hosted by “The Autistic Woman,” a late-diagnosed attorney and retired judge, interviewing other autistic people and talking about her own experiences

  • The Neurodiverging Podcast: hosted by Danielle Sullivan, the founder of Neurodiverging Coaching, featuring interviews on a variety of topics related to ADHD and autism

  • Two Sides of the Spectrum: hosted by Meg, featuring interviews with autistic professionals, including occupational therapists and speech and language pathologists

  • All Brains Belong: founded by Mel Houser, an AuDHD doctor in VT, focusing on neuroinclusive healthcare and featuring webinars, articles, and resources for communicating with healthcare providers

  • Autism Level Up: articles, videos, and resources from Jac, an autistic advocate, and Amy, an allistic occupational therapist and developmental psychologist (also has a paid community membership)

  • Autistic Women and Nonbinary Network: resources and community support focusing on autism advocacy and disability justice for women, girls, nonbinary people, and transgender people of all genders

  • Embrace Autism: founded by Dr. Natalie Engelbrecht, autistic naturopathic doctor, offering resources, including several self-assessment measures, on autism

  • Job Accommodation Network: extensive information about accommodations available through the US Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for a variety of disabilities, including autism

  • NeuroClastic: articles by autistic writers on a variety of topics related to neurodiversity, including, specifically,

  • Neurodivergent Insights: resources by Dr. Megan Anna Neff, an AuDHD psychologist and co-host of the Divergent Conversations podcast (below) (also has a paid membership community)

  • Autism from the Inside: Paul Micallef, a white autistic Australian man sharing his experience and perspective on living as an autistic person

  • I’m Autistic, Now What?: Meg, late-diagnosed AuDHD woman in the UK talking about her experiences with self-discovery and unmasking

  • Lovette Jallow: AuDHD Black lecturer and author in Sweden talking about neurodiversity, race, society, and advocacy

  • Mom on the Spectrum: Taylor Heaton, a white autistic American woman offering advice and sharing her experiences as a late-diagnosed autistic mom

  • Morgan Foley: autistic young adult sharing about her autistic experience in the US and hosting neurodivergent-friendly travel
